PROTECTION FROM DISEASE

Health Care

Malaria
All new children joining TLC receive a mosquito net. New nets are distributed when needed.
Sick children are tested for malaria and given medicine where appropriate.

HIV AIDs
Free tests are offered to all TLC guardians and children.
Children with the disease receive extra care alongside medical treatment. Sole carers also receive help as needed.

Sex Education and  Family Planning

Education sessions about sex and relationships are held with TLC children, young adults and their guardians in age appropriate groups.

Routine Health and Emergencies
If children are sick they are taken for a diagnosis and given treatment.
Severe cuts and broken limbs receive immediate medical attention.


Disabilities and Long-term Health Issues
TLC does its best to get children seen by appropriate specialists, using the best hospitals in Tanzania.
